MEET THE FOUNDER
Ted Hawley is the owner of New York Craft Malt, located on Hawley Farms (est. 1909) in Batavia, New York. Founded in 2012, New York Craft Malt was the first malthouse to be registered in the state since prohibition.
He added roasting equipment to his malthouse footprint in 2018 as a way to strengthen his product line and keep brewers and distillers engaged with the New York Craft Malt brand. Ted worked closely with Ying Tai Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. to design a roasting system for today’s modern malthouse.
